Hey all! Sorry for that emo post back then. I always have to go through this emo stage before I finally see the light.
It's always darkest before dawn yea? :P
So I'm a bit freer now. Mid years are over and I've got a bit of time to relax now before my onslaught of studies and assignments start next week and during the holidays.
In the absence, nothing particularly interesting happened but I guess I can bore everyone with the details anyway.
Last Saturday I was asked to go help out at a store and teach little kids (and some adults hahah) how to play the Pokemon card game. It was a good day. Got tons of freebies and paid somewhat. Now I;ve been asked to go back every second Saturday if I can to help out more. So it's like a semi-job. In the sense that I am actually putting out effort to get something in return (Sadly not in the form of cash) and I can go in whenever I want (Probably once a month)
I might not be getting paid much (or even at all) but at least it's some experience interacting with people and it can go into my resume for customer service! hahaha
And it's a fun way to burn Saturdays away. Of course, with schoolwork being a pain it might not work out if I go every second Saturday but once a month sounds reasonable. I mean it's like from 12-4.30 so I need to leave my house around 10.45 to get to the city and get back around 6. So that's 7 hours of a whole month gone but hey, I was a good kid the last time I went and brought work to do on the train so I think it's alright. heh
As I said earlier, I had exams this week. Just Bio and Chem so it wasn't too bad. The way they ask questions are completely different to Malaysia though. Instead of just testing you on how much you know, they test you to see if you can apply the knowledge as well. Tricky.
I bombed my Chemistry Multiple Choice section quite badly but hopefully the Short Answer Section will help me scrape through an A at least (Although I want an A+ quite badly but I'll settle for an A)
With Bio, it was indifferent. I did like 5 practice exams the day before and managed to get A+ for all of the which gave me a much needed confidence boost for bio. Managed to complete the exam but the questions asked were very weird and it didn't feel like anything I have done before.
Not settling for anything under A+ for Bio though. It needs to be my strong subject seeing as I want to do something Bio related for Uni (Either Biotech or Microbiology cause the recent work we did on the immune system was rather interesting.. and somewhat easy to understand hahaha)
Anyway, the day before the Bio exam the Assistant Principle called me and asked me to do a tour for some International student Agents and sell the school basically. She said because I was an International Student and the School Captain it would leave a good image and this that and everything else.
So I did the tour and stuff and was rewarded by a pretty good lunch full of omnom desserts.
I should start working for cash rather than all these other benefits :P
I'm probably thinking ahead of myself but I cannot wait for this year to be over because:
1) Get to go to Uni next year! I need to move on. Enough schooling for me :|
2) Probably look for a part time job to earn some cash to spend in Malaysia or save up for next year. Considering how good the exchange rate is.. 1 hour's work could get me like RM 32. CHA CHING!
3) I GET TO GO BACK TO MALAYSIA!!! Cannot wait to see everyone again.
4) Because I only get to work 20 hours a week here due to visa clauses, I was thinking of finding some volunteer program and experience something different. Since I would have so much time on my hands, why not use it to help some other people out?
So yea.. Completely pumped for 17th November. The last day of my exams. Sucks that it's at 3pm though and it's English. I have to wait all the way till 5.15pm till I can be totally free. Sigh...
But that's for the future, gotta focus on the task at hand now. Should probably go do some Maths for my test next week but me no like it anymore :(
Meh.. I'll do it later.
NB: I will do it though. I have to and want to because I need to score good marks for this test. Got only 55% the last one and I need to boost my average up.
On the plus side... 28/30 for an English Folio that I despised doing and kept putting it off. AWWWYEA!
Till the next post
